Simone Cipriani, Chief Speaker at Heineken’s Lagos Fashion & Design Week
Head of Ethical Fashion Initiative of the International Trade Centre, Simone Cipriani has been declared the main speaker for Fashion Business Series together with an interesting panel of other known speakers.
The Fashion Business Series which is targeted as a forum for exchanging ideas, networking and exploring strategies to grow the industry is scheduled for April 15th 2016 at The Metropolitan Club, Lagos and will be hosted by the founders of Style House Files, founders of Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week and sponsorship by PAL Pensions and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
Cipriani who manages the promotion of trade and incubation of creative micro-enterprises within marginalized communities specifically in Africa and Haiti, functioned in the wider ‘Poor Communities and Trade Programme’ launched by the ITC, the Ethical Fashion Initiative, led by him, and launched Ethical Fashion Africa Limited in Nairobi and through partnerships with designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Sass & Bide and Stella McCartney, who created a hub for creative manufacturing and production in countries such as Ghana and Uganda, using fair trade labour and ethical fashion practices.
The ethical head will join an impressive line-up of speakers who will touch on serious areas of the fashion industry such as manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, PR, communications and more.
Industry stakeholders will discuss on varied topics including: ‘Retail and ‘Etail’: Maximizing Opportunities and Reducing Risk’ ‘Communicating Fashion’, ‘Exporting Fashion to the World’ just to mention a few…
The event will be expedited by PAL Pensions, FBS will also feature a VIP Signature Session, titled “The Next Level”. Open only to fashion entrepreneurs operating for a minimum of five years, the session will host thought leaders in Fashion and the Private Sector as they discuss how to build a sustainable business.
