Did NASS increase CCB’s budget by N4bn in an attempt to save Saraki’s ass?
Guardian has notified that the Presidential Officials are doubtful of the action which they view as an attempt to stop the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) from taking legal action against a top member of the National Assembly for corruption charges.
The ongoing dispute which is believed to have emanated from the increment of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) budget by over N4 billion by the National Assembly is unveiling the hidden agenda of NASS.
In 2015, Senate President, Bukola Saraki was, accused of asset declaration fraud by the CCB.
The Senate President is alleged to have committed the offence during his tenure as governor of Kwara State.
The accused is currently accosted before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over the charges.
Saraki has maintained from the on-set that his trial which he sees as a kind of political persecution has no relationship with corruption.
