23-year-old Nigerian woman dies, her sister seriously injured in Nilai, Malaysia autocrash
Nigerian woman died from severe injuries incurred in at Km269 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) yesterday, 9th June. The 23-year-old victim named Odongo Regina Ndamai, who was in the car with her sister when the incident happened didn’t survive owing to serious injuries experienced.
Chief Bahrin Ayub Ghazali of Nilai Fire and Rescue Department Operations said initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred when the car, driven by the victim’s elder sister, Regina Ignthia Akiyi, 28, faced a tyre problem.
“The car was initially on the middle lane. As it was heading towards the emergency lane, the car was hit at its back by a man riding a Proton Exora car” he said.
Adding, Bahrin said due to the pressure , the Proton Extra car burst into flames but passersby managed to rescue the driver.
“It took us five minutes to put out the fire but the drivers suffered injuries and were rushed to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban for treatment.” he said.
